Empowered People has a new home of its own!

Its a long time in the making, but I can finally share the exciting news that we have a new centre/workshop space for Empowered People. Up until now we have been working from mainly from peoples garages and houses and at times we have hired the Fielden centre in Todmorden for open days but now we have our own dedicated space we will be able to do so much more!

Over the next few weeks we will be building a dedicated workshop area as well as a warm office space and plenty of storage for all our bikes and equipment.

Day one was a general clean up operation, sort out and painting day…

This is a huge step for the charity and only possible due to the ongoing generosity of our donation givers.

If you have any spare office or workshop equipment you would be happy to donate to the charity please let us know, we especially need a lot of white emulsion for the walls those breeze blocks suck it up very quickly!

Update:

We have been progressing nicely over the last few weeks, Plasterboard is almost in and a lot of the painting is done, just the floor and last wall to finish. The plan is to build workshop area at the back so benches and power will be added there.

Hi, I am one of the trustees of Empowered people. As well as looking after this website, I am also an ebike builder, modifier, hacker, and general bike mechanic. I have been involved with the Charity since 2015 and participate in as many rides as I can with my wife Catherine on the 'Bike Train' if you look around the website you are sure to find me in the background somewhere.
